Two Detentions in the Aftermath of Heathrow Irritant Spray Attack

This incident caused the partial closure of the CTA tunnel and the Terminal 3 car park.

An additional two individuals are now in custody in connection with a theft at London's Heathrow Airport where over twenty individuals sustained injuries by what is thought to be an irritant spray, as stated by police.

A man, 24, was arrested in the Lambeth area for suspected robbery and assault and a 23-year-old woman was arrested on suspicion of conspiracy to commit robbery. They both are still being held, the force said.

The arrests come after a probe into an attack at the multi-storey car park at Heathrow's Terminal 3 on Sunday. Before the attack, a pair of female travelers were robbed of their suitcases after getting out of a car park lift.

A three-year-old girl was among the those hurt in the event. A total of five individuals went to hospital for treatment and have since been released.

Officers detained a man in his thirties on suspicion of robbery and assault near the scene. He has since been released pending further inquiries as the investigation proceeds.

Authorities were alerted at about 8:10 in the morning GMT after reports came in regarding several people hurt by a noxious substance thought to be an irritant spray.

The attack - which authorities stated was a standalone incident and not being treated as an act of terror - caused train delays and the temporary shutdown of the Central Terminal Area tunnel and the Terminal 3 parking facility for a short time.
